The
OEM Service Porter
is responsible for supporting vehicle inspection, documentation, staging, delivery coordination, and physical delivery of units at assigned rail yard/Distribution locations. This role is critical to meeting Ford SLA requirements, ensuring vehicle condition accuracy, and maintaining safe, efficient yard operations. While core responsibilities apply to all locations, certain duties may vary based on yard layout, operational flow, and local requirements.
Porters may be
rail-yard based
(reporting directly to a rail yard) or
hub-based
(reporting to a hub prior to arriving at the rail yard), depending on location and operational need.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm some weekends and hours vary
Compensation:
$20-$22/hr BOE
Essential Job Duties
Vehicle Location & Coordination : Locate and coordinate vehicles for delivery, car haul support, and post-service verification. Vehicle Inspection & Documentation:
Conduct pre-delivery inspections, identify and document vehicle damage, and follow required escalation and BOL procedures. Bill of Lading (BOL) Management:
Prepare, complete, manage, and submit all required BOL documentation in accordance with SOP. Tagging & Staging:
Apply required hang tags and stage delivery-ready vehicles per yard guidelines. Communication & Escalation : Communicate vehicle status and operational issues with Dispatch and Logistics, escalating risks to delivery or SLA performance. SLA & Operational Support:
Support SLA compliance through onsite operational assistance, extended hours when needed, and corrective actions as directed. Safety & Compliance:
Follow all safety standards, rail yard rules, and professional conduct requirements at all times. Trash, Contraband, & Yard Issues:
Identify, document, and report yard hazards, vehicle issues, trash, or contraband according to escalation procedures. Additional Duties:
Support general yard operations, driver assistance, gate processes, and all OEM and site-specific SOPs as assigned. Location-Specific Responsibilities:
Complete yard-specific reporting, documentation, vehicle tracking, and facility checks based on assigned location. Required Qualifications
- Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
Must be 21 years of age High School Diploma or Equivalent Must have a Valid Driver's License Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Report Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities -

Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, management, and partners.
