Director of Fundraising and Development

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Development for a faith-aligned nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting dignity, compassion, and justice. This position is onsite in Golden Valley, MN.

Position Overview

The Director of Development will lead the organization’s fundraising efforts, with a primary focus on cultivating individual and family donors. This role will develop and execute major gift campaigns, manage donor relationships, and strengthen fundraising capacity across the organization. The position offers the opportunity to work alongside mission-driven leadership and contribute to meaningful, globally impactful initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead major gift and annual fundraising campaigns to achieve organizational goals
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with donors, families, and individual supporters
• Develop creative fundraising strategies to grow annual contributions and donor engagement
• Manage donor data and reporting within CRM systems (Virtuous or similar)
• Partner with leadership and program teams to align development strategies with organizational priorities
• Create compelling donor communications, materials, and presentations

Qualifications

• Proven success in nonprofit fundraising, securing significant annual and lifetime contributions
• Demonstrated ability to lead campaigns and manage donor relationships effectively
• Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
• Mission-driven, organized, collaborative, and aligned with faith-based values

Experience with Donor Management Systems or CRMs (Virtuous Preferred)

• Familiarity with Virtuous or similar donor management platforms

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, onsite position offering a competitive annual salary of $85,000, along with a supportive, mission-oriented work culture.
