In-House Legal Counsel

The In‑House Legal Counsel is a diplomatic, self‑directed problem‑solver who ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The role involves employment law, civil litigation, regulatory matters, intellectual property, complex commercial contracts, warranty matters, outside counsel management, and personnel oversight. It also functions as a business partner providing legal guidance to executive leadership and departments.
Responsibilities
- Act as a business partner to executive leadership and various departments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research, draft opinions, and present concise legal issues to executives.
- Manage outside counsel and related expenditures.
- Oversee personnel‑management matters.
- Participate in strategic goal setting and continuous learning initiatives.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of in‑house or law‑firm experience.
- Proficiency in employment law, civil litigation, regulatory, IP, complex contracts, and warranty matters.
- Experience managing outside counsel and personnel.
- Strong research, writing, and presentation skills.
- Mississippi or Tennessee Bar License preferred.
