The Strategic Planning Director will serve as a key member of NSG staff, responsible for driving long‑term business strategy (2-5 year horizon) for Intel Ethernet products (e.g. fNIC, IPU) including market analysis, competitive intelligence, portfolio planning, and cross‑functional strategic initiatives.

This role requires exceptional leadership skills to influence without authority and the ability to synthesize complex, disparate information into actionable strategic direction for executive decision‑making.

Responsibilities

  • Market Intelligence and Analysis
    • Manage relationships with 3rd party market intelligence data sources
    • Identify new market opportunities and assess strategic fit to influence BU investments
    • Develop and maintain an Ethernet market model analyzing market size and trajectory
  • Long‑Term Strategic Planning
    • Align Ethernet portfolio with Xeon and Core CPU platforms
    • Drive portfolio planning decisions including architectural convergence and IP strategy
    • Lead product line transition planning with 10‑year visibility
    • Assess product and IP scalability across the Ethernet portfolio
  • Competitive Intelligence
    • Maintain comprehensive competitive product and technology roadmaps
    • Forecast competitor strategy and product direction
    • Coordinate competitive analysis including teardowns and benchmarking
    • Collect and disseminate competitive intelligence across the organization
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership
    • Lead Strategy Council/MRC processes to ensure strategic alignment
    • Drive consensus on long‑term vision and direction across stakeholders
    • Escalate strategic issues to appropriate executives when required
    • Document and archive strategic decisions comprehensively
    • Augment offering with custom ASIC derivatives for leading customers
  • Executive Communication and Influence
    • Present strategic recommendations to executive leadership (75 % of communication focus)
    • Communicate strategic direction to peers and cross‑functional teams (25 % of communication focus)
    • Context switch seamlessly between portfolio‑level and product‑specific discussions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic planning, product management, or business strategy
  • 5+ years of experience in technology industry, preferably semiconductors
  • Experience with ethernet network adapters as well as IPU/DPU products (applications that range from edge to datacenter to hyperscaler environments)
  • Proven track record of driving strategic initiatives in matrix organizations
  • Proficiency in market research and competitive analysis methodologies
  • Experience with portfolio management frameworks
  • Strong analytical and data synthesis capabilities
  • Knowledge of semiconductor industry dynamics and technology roadmaps

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Strategy
  • Previous experience in strategic planning
  • Experience with Networking for AI
  • Experience with technology roadmap development
  • Background in product marketing or product management
  • Consulting experience with top‑tier strategy firms
  • International business experience
