Director of General Accounting (CPA)

Base pay range

$160,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

A leading hospitality organization is seeking an experienced Director of General Accounting to oversee core accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, payroll, banking, and compliance. This role leads a high‑performing team and works closely with executives, internal stakeholders, and external partners.

Key Requirements (Non‑Negotiable)

• CPA and 15+ years of relevant accounting experience and management of others
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (accounting concentration required)
• Active CPA
• Hybrid work required (Newport Beach)
• Strong background in financial statements, payroll, audits, and accrual accounting
• Ability to manage 4+ audits annually (external audit partner involved)
• Accepting candidates from real estate ; travel, hospitality, service, or healthcare industries preferred

Preferred Systems Experience

• Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
• Business Central / Dynamics 365
• Concur

Responsibilities

• Lead general accounting, AP, payroll, global banking, and reporting functions
• Ensure accurate month‑end close and compliance with internal controls
• Oversee global bank accounts and corporate credit card programs
• Manage external financial audits and reporting
• Support income tax compliance with external tax partners
• Produce monthly financial statements for executive leadership
• Participate in special projects, system implementations, and process improvements
• Supervise and develop accounting and payroll staff
