Job DetailsThe Tax Senior Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing complex tax engagements, managing key client relationships, and driving team performance. This position requires a balance of advanced technical expertise, strategic advisory capabilities, and strong leadership skills. You will work closely with firm leadership to deliver high-quality client outcomes while contributing to operational and growth initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Management & AdvisoryLead multiple high-level tax engagements across corporate, partnership, and individual clientsDeliver strategic tax planning and advisory services tailored to client needsReview complex federal, state, and local tax filings to ensure accuracy and complianceIdentify tax-saving opportunities and provide forward-looking recommendationsServe as a primary advisor to clients, addressing complex issues and anticipating future needsLeadership & Team DevelopmentSupervise and mentor managers and staff, fostering professional growth and accountabilityOversee engagement planning, staffing, and budgeting to ensure efficient executionProvide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluationsPromote a collaborative, high-performance team environmentTechnical Oversight & Quality ControlMaintain current knowledge of tax regulations and industry developmentsPerform detailed reviews of returns and supporting documentationEnsure adherence to internal quality standards and regulatory requirementsDrive process improvements and support adoption of technology solutionsFirm Leadership & Growth InitiativesContribute to recruiting, training, and strategic planning effortsIdentify opportunities to expand client relationships and service offeringsParticipate in networking and business development activitiesCollaborate with leadership on departmental and firm-wide objectivesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or related field requiredMaster's in Taxation or similar advanced degree preferredActive CPA license required10+ years of progressive public accounting experience3+ years in a leadership or senior management roleStrong expertise in partnership, corporate, and individual taxationExperience with multi-state and consolidated tax filingsIn-depth knowledge of federal and state tax regulationsTechnical SkillsProficiency with CCH Axcess (required)Experience with workflow and engagement tools (e.g., XCM, Engagement)Advanced Excel and data analysis skillsCore CompetenciesStrategic thinking and problem-solving abilityStrong leadership and team development skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentHigh attention to detail and commitment to qualityInterested in hearing more?
