Director of Content & Brand

About your team and your mission This is a newly created role, previously held by the CMO, which means you’ll be building and scaling the function with a high degree of ownership. You’ll be responsible for written content, SEO/AEO, video and podcast content, press relations, community and social media management and Web.

You’ll work cross-functionally with Design, Product, Sales, and the broader Marketing team to ensure our brand and content are consistent, technically credible, and deeply resonant with our developer and security practitioner audience.

Brand Strategy & Vision

Own and evolve

GitGuardian’s brand strategy, ensuring consistency, technical credibility, and differentiation in the cybersecurity market

Challenge and pressure-test the brand vision

and messaging with the CMO, bringing fresh market perspective and competitive intelligence

Define and maintain GitGuardian’s brand guidelines , tone of voice, and visual identity standards across all channels and formats

Content Strategy & Production

Lead the full‑funnel content strategy

across all formats: long‑form articles, whitepapers, research reports, blogs, videos, and social content

Build and manage a network of external authors and subject matter experts

to scale content production without sacrificing technical depth and quality

Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, and the CMO

to ensure content is accurate, timely, business‑relevant, and strategically aligned with pipeline goals

Press & Media Relations

Manage the relationship with PR agencies

to drive earned media coverage in top‑tier cybersecurity, tech, and business outlets

Build and maintain strong media relationships , position GitGuardian executives as credible voices in the cybersecurity industry

Monitor and grow share of voice

across key media channels, tracking mentions volume, sentiment, and quality of coverage

SEO/AEO

Define the SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) strategy

and oversee its execution through the Content & SEO/AEO Manager and external agencies

Team Leadership & Operations

Manage and develop the team

Orchestrate internal resources, external authors, and agencies

to deliver high‑quality output at scale while maintaining editorial standards

Define and manage the content and PR budgets

Define processes, editorial calendars, and workflows

to ensure consistent and predictable content output

About you If you think you match at least 70% of these criteria, please apply!

Here’s what we consider essential for success in this role:

6+ years of experience in Brand and/or Content Marketing (B2B)

Background in the cybersecurity industry to understand the market, the buyers, and the technical landscape

Proven experience managing a team of 5 or more, as well as external partners & PR agencies

Strong editorial judgment: you can shape complex technical topics into compelling narratives

Demonstrated ability to build and execute a full‑funnel content strategy across multiple formats (long‑form, whitepapers, reports, video, blog)

High agency and hands‑on mindset: you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves while also thinking strategically and challenging leadership

The following skills would strengthen your application but aren’t required:

Experience in an adjacent industry with a technical brand DNA: AI, DevOps, developer tooling, or cloud infrastructure

Familiarity with developer‑first communities, open‑source ecosystems, or DevSecOps workflows

Prior experience as a brand or content lead at a company with a developer or security practitioner audience
