Northwestern College seeks a graphic designer to create captivating, visually appealing, on-brand designs for primarily print and digital media that supports enrollment, marketing and institutional branding, beginning in July. The graphic designer must be artistically creative and technically proficient in software and AI tools that enhance design and optimize efficiency. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with members of the marketing and communications team (and with outside vendors as necessary) to design, edit and produce graphics for print and digital media aimed at external audiences—primarily prospective students and their influencers—including brochures, posters, postcards, multi-page publications, digital presentations, and art for social media
Adhere to the college’s branding and visual identity guidelines to ensure consistency in all visual communications
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from initial concept through printing or digital publication, ensuring deadlines are met
Organize, package, deliver, and archive files and photos for all design projects
Stay abreast of design trends and tools, employing both to further Northwestern’s brand awareness and attractiveness
Assist with shoots to generate visual assets for future design needs
Required Qualifications
A degree in graphic design or a related field
Three-plus years of experience as a graphic designer in an educational, Christian nonprofit or other professional setting
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) and familiarity with Canva
A portfolio of print and digital work demonstrating strong design skills in layout, typography, use of color, and branding
Excellent communication and collaborative skills
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in proofing and editing design and copy
Skills in photography, shooting and editing video a plus but not required
