Senior Product Designer (UI/UX), AI/ML Tools Cupertino, California, United States Software and Services Play a key role in shaping the tools that power AI development. We’re looking for a senior designer who can take on complex, ambiguous problems and turn them into beautiful, elegant, and highly usable experiences. This is a highly visible role working across multiple teams within the Apple’s AI/ML organization for multiple products. Beyond craft, you’ll help drive alignment, influence product direction, and bring clarity to complex problem spaces. Description In this role, you will design intuitive and scalable experiences for AI training and evaluation tools, spanning workflows such as data annotation, evaluation, and visualization. You’ll partner closely with engineers, users, and product stakeholders to shape product direction from early concepts through execution. You’ll also play a key role in simplifying complex systems, rapidly prototyping ideas, and aligning cross‑functional teams to deliver cohesive and impactful solutions. Responsibilities Design end‑to‑end experiences for AI/ML tools, including data collection, annotation, and visualization workflows Lead design efforts from concept through execution, iteration, and launch Translate ambiguous requirements into clear product direction and thoughtful design solutions Collaborate closely with engineering, and users to shape and refine product strategy Able to rapidly explore ideas and validate design approaches Bring clarity to complex systems through strong interaction and visual design Drive alignment across teams and stakeholders to move projects forward Contribute to and evolve design systems where applicable Minimum Qualifications Strong visual and interaction design skills with high attention to detail Proven experience designing complex systems, tools, or workflows Experience shipping high‑quality, customer‑facing products Ability to work through ambiguity and define clear solutions Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross‑functional teams Proficiency with Sketch and Adobe Creative Cloud or other equivalent tools Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Must have portfolio demonstrating shipped work and design process Preferred Qualifications Experience designing data‑heavy interfaces or visualization tools Background working on AI/ML, data platforms, or developer tools Strong systems thinking and ability to design scalable frameworks Experience contributing to or building design systems Ability to rapidly iterate and prototype to explore multiple directions Proactive mindset with the ability to drive alignment and influence product direction At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $117,400 and $221,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
