Director of Transportation JobID: 1407 Position Type: Transportation/Director of Transportation Date Posted: 4/22/2026 Location: Transportation/Bergen Ave Closing Date: 06/21/2026 Additional Information: Show/Hide DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION (Non-Affiliated/12-Month position) 26-27 SCHOOL YEAR (Available September 2026) DISTRICT We are presently accepting applications for the following position: DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION (Non-Affiliated/12-Month position) QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma or equivalent * School Transportation Supervisor Certificate required * Supervisory experience involving planning, directing and scheduling mass passenger transportation services * Demonstrated skills in personnel management, route scheduling, fleet maintenance and cost containment. * Ability to manage and motivate a diverse workforce * Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey * Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL), preferred * Knowledge of transportation management software * Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace software * Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing school bus construction and maintenance, and pupil transportation * Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills * Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000 (non-affiliated contract) Benefits: Health, prescription, dental and vision, and paid time off.
