Job Summary

Administrative Director, Disaster Preparedness & Business Continuity provides strategic leadership and enterprise oversight to ensure Harris Health maintains uninterrupted delivery of critical healthcare services during emergencies, disruptions, and disasters. This role directs the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Emergency Operations Plan, Business Continuity Plan, and hazard mitigation strategies to protect patients, staff, infrastructure, and mission critical operations. Serving as a key liaison to internal leaders and external partners, the director integrates preparedness and continuity efforts across the organization while ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The position leads governance, training, and large‑scale exercises to strengthen organizational resilience, validate readiness, and enable rapid recovery of essential clinical and business functions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degrees: Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree Preferred
  • Work Experience: Ten (10) Years Healthcare operations
  • Management Experience: Seven (7) Years of Management Experience, Progressive management or equivalent experience
  • Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact); Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking); Writing/Correspondence; Writing/Reports
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, evaluate, and extract key insights from data, contracts or other fact‑based data resources
    • Mathematics: Strong financial acumen with ability to develop, manage & monitor budgets
    • Medical Terminology Knowledge

Work Schedule

Flexible. Eligible for Telecommute: Potential for occasional telecommute / work from home time. Travel: Travel to and from various Harris Health facilities.

Other Requirements

  • Strong Healthcare Industry Knowledge, Texas & Houston healthcare market knowledge preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in disaster preparedness
  • Must include experience in multi‑disciplinary operational environments with increasing levels of responsibility and cross‑functional collaboration
  • Professional experience working within complex healthcare systems is required
  • Must demonstrate a track record of driving accountability and implementing operational best practices across diverse support service areas
