The Director of Brand Strategy & Insights leads AW clients in solving complex brand challenges with confidence and clarity. This role combines strategic expertise with hands‑on leadership – guiding the development and delivery of brand positioning, purpose, character, story, portfolio architecture, and nomenclature.
Beyond client‑facing brand strategy, the Director plays a key role in shaping high‑quality deliverables, overseeing the creation and production of materials, and creating inspiring moments throughout the project lifecycle. From proposal through final recommendations, this role orchestrates cross‑functional teams and drives momentum, with ultimate accountability for the success of each engagement.
The Director of Insights & Strategy is part strategist, part analyst, part innovator, and part entrepreneur, tackling some of the industry’s toughest business challenges and creating the inspiration that fuels enduring brands.
Responsibilities
- Provide training and mentorship to brand strategy and cross‑functional teams on core strategic principles, best practices, and the role of strategy in informed decision‑making
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes and elevate deliverables to better meet client needs, including the development and implementation of new offerings
- Cultivate strong client relationships that build trust, deepen partnerships, and unlock new business opportunities
- Partner closely with Business Development and Marketing to identify, shape, and generate new Strategy engagements
- Lead and strengthen the partnership between Strategy and Insights (both within Addison Whitney and across Syneos Health) to establish research best practices and deliver exceptional, insight‑driven work
- Develop and facilitate high‑impact meetings and workshops, driving alignment and securing cross‑functional buy‑in across client teams
- Synthesize complex research into clear, actionable insights and implications that directly inform and elevate brand development
- Demonstrate consistent success in winning new business while exceeding client expectations
- Maintain a strong pulse on the evolving landscape of branding tools and assess their relevance and application within our strategic and design approach
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of strategy experience within an agency
- Pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $125,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
