Anaplan Solution Architect

We are seeking an experienced Anaplan Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and optimization of Anaplan solutions supporting the firm’s internal FP&A function. This role will play a key part in shaping scalable, connected planning models that improve forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and decision‑making across the business.

Based in their Chicago office on a hybrid schedule, this person will partner closely with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to translate planning requirements into effective Anaplan model architecture and long‑term platform strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of Anaplan solutions focused on financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, workforce planning, and management reporting
• Own model design standards, data flows, integration approach, and overall platform scalability across FP&A use cases
• Partner with Finance leadership and business users to gather requirements and turn them into practical, high‑quality Anaplan solutions
• Design and maintain connected planning models that support complex manufacturing and operational finance processes
• Improve existing Anaplan models for usability, performance, maintainability, and governance
• Establish and enforce best practices for model building, naming conventions, security, version control, testing, and deployment
• Work closely with data, ERP, and reporting teams to support integrations between Anaplan and source systems such as ERP, data warehouse, and BI platforms
• Support scenario planning, driver‑based modeling, profitability analysis, and variance reporting for internal finance teams
• Act as the subject matter expert for Anaplan architecture and provide guidance to model builders, analysts, and stakeholders
• Lead solution documentation, design reviews, testing strategy, and release planning
• Support user adoption through training, documentation, and ongoing collaboration with FP&A teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
• 4+ years of Anaplan experience, including hands‑on solution architecture and model design
• Proven experience delivering Anaplan solutions for FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Strong understanding of finance processes, planning cycles, and management reporting in a large enterprise environment
• Experience designing complex, scalable Anaplan models with a focus on performance and maintainability
• Strong knowledge of Anaplan best practices, dimensionality, sparsity management, data hubs, and application lifecycle management
• Experience working with integrations between Anaplan and ERP, ETL, or cloud data platforms
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with senior Finance and business stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across both strategic design and hands‑on delivery
