Senior Tax Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive technical reviews and approvals for complex tax returns across diverse industries and entity structures
- Serve as the go‑to subject matter expert, providing sophisticated tax guidance and innovative solutions
- Manage and direct high‑stakes governmental examinations, representing clients with confidence before taxing authorities
- Build lasting relationships as the primary client service leader for a portfolio of valued clients
- Contribute to firm growth through active participation in practice development, community engagement, and referral network expansion
- Deliver exceptional service that consistently exceeds client expectations
- Shape the next generation of tax professionals through hands‑on mentoring, performance coaching, and instructional leadership
- Drive efficient workflow management ensuring timely, accurate delivery of all client deliverables
- Participate in talent acquisition and development initiatives that strengthen our team
- Research and evaluate cutting‑edge tax technology solutions to enhance firm capabilities
- Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as opportunities arise
- Contribute to firm‑wide best practices and process improvements
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of progressive public accounting experience with demonstrated mastery of increasingly complex tax matters
- Minimum 2 years of successful client representation before taxing authorities
- At least 1 year of team leadership and staff development experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's in Taxation preferred)
- CPA, JD, or LLM certification
- Current knowledge of evolving tax laws and regulations
- Proficiency with advanced tax preparation, research, and planning software
- Passion for tackling complex tax challenges with creative, compliant solutions
- Natural leadership abilities with a commitment to developing others
- Strong business acumen and client relationship management skills
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development (40+ CPE hours annually)
Compensation & Benefits
- $185,000 - $200,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
