Purpose of the role
We are looking for a Director, Financial Market Infrastructure & Broker Dealers to join our FI coverage team. Sub‑sectors within the Broker Dealer and related Market Infrastructure sector include: Securities and Derivatives Exchanges, Central Counterparties (CCPs), Retail and Wholesale Broker Dealers (BDs), Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs), Proprietary Trading Firms / High Frequency Traders (HFTs). In this role you will establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It is the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long‑term success. The Broker Dealer team is responsible for client coverage, credit first line of defence and prioritisation of client needs at Barclays. The team focuses on a suite of Global Treasury banking products including Trade, Payments, Clearing, Debt and FX and in close partnerships with DCM, LevFin, RSG & Markets.
Accountabilities
- Management of client relationships to identify the client's financial goals, challenges and risk tolerance, and support analysis of data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Research and understanding of the client's industry trends, regulatory landscape and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
- Design customised solutions that address the client's specific needs, incorporating a range of products and services.
- Communicate the value proposition of proposed solutions, justify recommendations and negotiate terms beneficial to both client and bank.
- Provide guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management and wealth management strategies.
- Assess financial, legal and operational risks associated with client relationships and implement measures to minimise potential losses.
- Document all client interactions, transactions and agreements for transparency and auditability, and communicate findings to support product development and strategy.
- Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generated and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management.
