
Legal Assistant / Paralegal - Real Estate Law

Established law firm seeking a full-time Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support attorneys whose practice focuses on real estate. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized professional who enjoys both substantive legal work and high-level administrative responsibilities.
Prior legal experience is preferred, but we will also consider candidates with relevant professional experience outside the legal field who are smart, organized, and able to learn quickly. This is a hands‑on role in a busy, client‑centered practice.
Description Duties include, but are not limited to:
Opening and maintaining client files (electronic and paper)
Managing attorney calendar, deadlines, closing dates, and client meetings
Client intake and serving as a primary point of contact for clients
Drafting and preparing legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
Tracking deadlines and ensuring matters move forward timely
Commercial and residential real estate closing document preparation
Title insurance production
Handling of transaction funds and ensuring funds are handled properly from start to completion of transaction
Handling client and business communications with professionalism and discretion
General administrative support as needed

Qualifications
Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal
preferred , but not required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional demeanor and strong client-service attitude
High degree of discretion and confidentiality
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and general office software; ability to learn new systems
Must pass background and credit check
Experience with SoftPro (SoftPro/ProForm/ProTrust) closing title and escrow software
preferred .
Knowledge of real estate closings and title insurance also
preferred
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
College education (preferred)
Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (1 hour lunch break)
