SafetyWing, San Francisco, CA, United States
Graphic Design Intern
Department:
Creative
Employment Type:
Internship
Location:

Description SafetyWing (YC W18) is seeking a Graphic Design intern to join us for Summer 2026.
At SafetyWing, we’re building a global social safety net for remote workers—simple health, insurance, and retirement products designed to replace national welfare systems. Our mission is to remove geographical borders as a barrier to equal opportunity and freedom for everyone. If we succeed, we believe this will be one of the most important tasks of our time.
About this Role: As a Graphic Design Intern, you’ll play a key role in scaling our visual presence and brand character during an exciting time of growth. You’ll help by supporting our growing pipeline of graphics and growth projects—crafting visual assets that extend our reach and impact. Along the way, you’ll be supported by our experienced design team to help you learn, grow, and thrive.
Responsibilities
Supporting the design and production of marketing assets across channels (e.g., social, ads, landing pages, email)
Applying SafetyWing’s brand guidelines consistently while learning when and how to push creative boundaries
Iterating on design concepts based on feedback and best practices
Preparing and exporting production-ready files for different formats and platforms
Conducting lightweight research and reference gathering to inform visual direction
Contributing ideas for improving visual quality, clarity, and engagement across assets
We are looking for someone who
Has a strong eye for layout, typography, color, and composition
Demonstrates good visual judgment and taste
Has a portfolio (school, freelance, or personal projects welcome) that demonstrates visual range and an interest in brand or marketing design
Is curious about emerging creative tools and has experimented with motion design or AI‑assisted design workflows
Is entrepreneurial and self‑driven
Has a basic understanding of design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Figma and is committed to continuous learning of new features
Is eager to understand the 'why' behind design briefs, not just the 'what'
Is committed to dedicating
3 months
to this internship, full time, with an anticipated start date in
June 2026 .
We like to work with people who
Want to help build a global social safety net on the Internet.
Think for themselves instead of copying others.
Are willing to try new things, even with the risk of failure.
Are intellectually curious and open to new ideas.
Are creative and bold in the face of any problems.
Have strong integrity and do the right thing.
Benefits beyond base pay
A great team to learn from and collaborate with, in a fully remote, work‑from‑anywhere environment
A fully paid 3‑month internship with the opportunity to learn, grow, and make an impact
Paid vacation days
Monthly team meals budget to get to know the team
Udemy subscription for the duration of your internship to support your learning
