
Continuous Improvement Specialist

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role supports the Continuous Improvement Department by training internal staff on World Class Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs adapted to the office environment. This role will be responsible for coordinating and leading training sessions with Continuous Improvement Champions, coaching project teams, and partnering with the Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma Departments at our global headquarters.
Primary Responsibilities
Work closely with Continuous Improvement Manager to identify and drive key process improvement initiatives to increase process efficiencies.
Apply understanding of our customers, products, and processes to support business problem analysis and determine the best methodology to resolve issues.
Partner with WEG global Continuous Improvement Department to learn our internal tool, WMS Office, that is based on technical and managerial pillars of World Class Manufacturing.
Lead Kaizen events and WMS Office projects as assigned by Continuous Improvement Manager.
Promote the growth of Continuous Improvement capabilities across the organization by facilitating training on WMS Office and Lean Six Sigma tools.
Act as a process management coach by integrating knowledge of Lean principals to help process owners and key stakeholders align problem solving and improvement project outcomes with company goals.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge / training
Defining and solving problems using quality tools and methodologies including Ishikawa diagrams, 5 Whys, 5W2H, PDCA, and DMAIC.
Drive process improvements with lean tools and methodologies including Value Stream Mapping, SIPOC, and Kaizen.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills within all levels in the organization.
Electrical/Mechanical/Technical background a plus but not required.
Experience
3+ years relevant experience
