Product Designer

Greenboard, New York, NY, United States

About Greenboard

At Greenboard, we’re building the future of financial compliance. Greenboard is the unified, AI-native compliance operating system for RIAs, fintechs, private funds, hedge funds, and more. It replaces the fragmented mix of legacy tools and automates more than previously possible. By centralizing data and workflows, Greenboard helps firms reduce regulatory risk, simplify their technology stack, modernize how they run compliance, and save money. Our founding team includes engineers who have scaled products at Amazon, Google, and multiple unicorn startups. We’re backed by Y Combinator, General Catalyst, Base10, and other top-tier investors, and have raised over $20M to date. Brand-name financial institutions already rely on Greenboard — and we’re growing fast. About the Role: As a Product Designer at Greenboard, you’ll own the end-to-end design of complex, AI-powered compliance workflows—from zero-to-one concepts through production. You’ll work directly with product, engineering, and leadership to turn ambiguous regulatory problems into clear, intuitive user experiences. This is a high-ownership role in an early-stage environment: you’ll drive core product decisions, shape how AI shows up in the interface, and build systems that scale as the product evolves. Success in this role means moving quickly, making strong product judgments with incomplete information, and continuously refining the experience through close customer feedback This is a full-time, on-site role in NYC. What You’ll Work On

Own the end-to-end design process from early concept through delivery, working closely with product, engineering, and executive stakeholders.

Drive design across Greenboard's core customer journeys while balancing quality with the speed of an early-stage environment.

Shape AI-powered experiences that meaningfully reduce friction and increase efficiency for end users.

Rapidly generate concepts and interactive prototypes that communicate your thinking clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Talk to customers regularly to uncover their needs, validate assumptions, and translate insights into product decisions, including the needs they haven't yet articulated.

Build and maintain Greenboard's design system, including foundations, component behaviors, and reusable templates that scale across the product.

Who Are You?

You move fast and communicate clearly. You can walk leadership, product managers, and engineers through your thinking and bring them along even when the work is still rough.

You are fluent in technical conversations to understand constraints and adapt your solutions accordingly. You don't design in a vacuum. If you’re comfortable shipping code or bringing technical skills into your design work, that’s a strong plus.

You thrive with minimal direction. You can scope ambiguous problems, form a point of view, and start iterating without waiting for perfect requirements.

You are comfortable owning multiple workstreams at once and driving alignment across teams without relying on formal authority.

You are resourceful and action-oriented. You start from zero, build quickly, and improve from there.

You obsess over the customers you're building for and let that curiosity shape your decisions at every stage of the process.

Qualifications

Required

2-3 years of product design experience with clear ownership over end-to-end features or products.

Portfolio with projects that have been shipped to production.

Experience designing AI-powered products and a track record of using AI tools to accelerate and sharpen your design process.

A strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, interaction design, and the ability to operate at varying levels of fidelity.

Proven ability to navigate fast-paced, early-stage environments where process is still being built.

Experience in fintech or compliance-adjacent products is a plus, though curiosity and the ability to learn the domain quickly matters more.

Based in NYC or willing to work from our New York office.
