Lead Clubhouse Bartender/Cook
Full & Part‑time Seasonal position in the Food & Beverage Department at Northern Waters Casino Resort. Reports to the Beverage Manager, Executive Chef, or F&B Director. Hourly pay $15.00–$18.00 (Non‑Exempt).
Position Summary Oversee the preparation of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages for the clubhouse bar and golf course patrons. Ensure all staff take orders, prepare drinks and food, and serve guests. Coordinate with Beverage Cart and Pro Shop attendants to meet guest needs. Lead and train other Bartenders/Cooks and Beverage Cart staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, including garnishes for mixed drinks.
Interact with club bar customers to take, prepare, and serve food and beverage orders.
Read, implement, and adhere to all relevant gaming, regulatory, and internal control policies.
Mix all types of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages to order following a variety of recipes.
Prep and produce all food menu items based on established recipes and cooking specifications.
Check customer identification and confirm legal drinking age.
Comply with all food and beverage policies, procedures, and regulations.
Handle money, operate the payment collection system, and make accurate change.
Complete necessary documentation for refund requirements.
Clean bar, kitchen, and restrooms; stock bar and food items; maintain overall cleanliness.
Wash bar glasses and equipment.
Follow sanitary and safety requirements within state, federal, tribal, and property guidelines.
Follow serving guidelines, monitor intoxicated customers, and make judgments when to slow or cut off service.
Know the bar and clubhouse food menu options to answer guest inquiries courteously.
Track and record inventory; maintain records of popular drinks, liquor, and food.
Provide the highest level of customer service with a positive attitude.
Work as a team, demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to patrons and coworkers.
Maintain high personal hygiene.
Stay flexible, assume additional responsibilities as assigned, and accept duties other than those listed.
Adapt to flexible schedules and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Attend all required meetings, training, and gaming license reviews.
Lead the outlet, ensuring consistent task completion by all staff.
Maintain a drug and alcohol‑free workplace, especially on the Lac Vieux Desert Golf Course.
Work with Pro Shop staff to ensure the outside of the clubhouse common areas are clean and look professional.
Skills & Qualifications Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Basic math skills for accurate money handling.
Ability to operate payment‑collection system.
Positive, respectful attitude.
Previous supervisory experience.
Ability to work with the public and in a team.
Legal age in Michigan (18 years) to serve alcohol.
Successfully pass TIPS training.
Obtain ServSafe Food certification within 30 days of employment.
Pass background checks and other pre‑employment screenings for gaming license.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of bartending experience.
One year of quick‑service cooking experience.
Completion of an approved bartender’s course.
Physical Requirements
Lift and carry objects up to 15 pounds.
Push and pull objects up to 20 pounds.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Use a dolly to transport heavy objects such as cases of soda, beer, or food.
Stand and walk for long periods, up to 90% of an 8‑ or 10‑hour shift.
Work in a loud environment.
Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming habits.
