About the Role
Barron's is looking for a senior markets editor to lead coverage of equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. This is a central editorial role at a publication where markets journalism isn’t a beat—it's crucial to everything we do. The ideal candidate is an experienced financial journalist who thinks strategically, moves quickly, and holds every story to Barron's standard of authority and precision, whether that be a 300‑word market brief or a 2,000‑word cover story.
You Will
Serve as a senior editorial voice on strategy and coverage planning, shaping Barron's approach to markets journalism.
Be a strong editor and writer who brings a distinctive and authoritative voice to markets coverage for both in‑depth feature stories and short digital articles.
Develop story ideas and guide writers from conception to publication.
Work energetically in the fast pace of digital markets coverage.
Collaborate with designers on data visualizations.
You Have
Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial journalism, with a demonstrated track record of covering financial markets at a high level.
Deep knowledge of equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities, with the ability to translate complex market dynamics into compelling, reader‑friendly journalism.
Strong news judgment and an instinct for timing—knowing when a story needs depth and when it needs to move more quickly.
Adept at data analysis.
