Description
This position is contingent upon successful contract award.
Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of digital platforms within a federal and defense-contracting environment. Ensure all digital content is secure, accessible, and aligned with agency-wide messaging and data governance frameworks. Bridge technical web development and strategic communications, ensuring a seamless and compliant user experience.
Key Responsibilities
Content Lifecycle Management: Manage, update, and maintain digital content using enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS), ensuring all updates comply with federal standards and agency policy.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all web content adheres to Section 508 accessibility standards , cybersecurity protocols, and Operational Security (OPSEC) considerations.
Data Strategy & Governance: Implement data strategy principles, including metadata management and data cataloging, to align with agency-wide governance frameworks.
Editorial Excellence: Edit, develop, and publish digital content that accurately reflects agency messaging and communications objectives.
Performance Analytics: Monitor and interpret website traffic using tools such as Google Analytics to provide actionable insights, inform content strategy, and increase user engagement.
Optimization & Usability: Apply SEO best practices to improve search performance and site usability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison within a cross-functional team of developers, UX/UI designers, and federal stakeholders to facilitate content reviews and approvals.
Records Retention: Manage content archiving in accordance with federal records retention policies and processes.
Strategic Alignment: Ability to ensure digital presence mirrors high-level policy and agency goals.
Technical Compliance: A rigorous commitment to maintaining security and accessibility standards in a highly regulated environment.
Collaborative Mindset: Excellence in navigating the specific review and approval hierarchies unique to government and defense sectors.
Travel may be required
Requirements
Experience: 3–5+ years of experience managing digital content specifically within federal or defense environments.
Proven track record of working with CMS platforms and managing complex approval workflows.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in web analytics and SEO implementation.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Web Development, IT, or a related field (with 3+ years of experience); OR
Associate degree from an accredited institution (with 5+ years of relevant experience).
Certifications
Certified Web Accessibility Specialist (CWAS)
Google Analytics Certification
Note: Additional certifications in data governance, accessibility, or digital content management are highly advantageous.
Clearance Requirements
Possesses and maintain Top Secret Clearance ( SCI preferred )
