Summary The Communications Specialist supports the delivery of clear, engaging, and consistent internal communications across the organization. This role works with internal partners to help plan, draft, and distribute communications that support day-to-day business needs and project-related initiatives. The Communications Specialist applies established communications best practices and change management principles to help ensure messages are accurate, timely, and appropriate for the intended audience. Role is not limited to the responsibilities listed below and may include other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Support the development and delivery of internal communications by drafting, editing, and coordinating messaging for day to day business needs and assigned projects. Assist with communication activities for projects, initiatives, process updates, change initiatives or implementations by translating provided information into clear, audience appropriate content. Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders and project teams to gather information and ensure communications are accurate and timely. Execute communications using established best practices, templates, tools, and guidelines to ensure consistency with organizational standards. Manage assigned communication tasks and timelines under general direction, escalating questions or complex issues as needed. Help track communication milestones and updates related to projects or initiatives. Provide general communications support for assigned initiatives and programs as directed. Maintain and support the library of project management and change management tools, templates, and resources, ensuring they remain current and practical for project teams. Working knowledge of internal communications best practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting, editing, and proofreading content. Ability to understand business or project information and translate it into clear, concise messaging. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to integrate change management principles into communications strategy. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and consistency in communications. Proficiency with standard communication tools and platforms (e.g., email, intranet, collaboration tools, and Canva/other design tools). Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, english, or a related field, or equivalent professional-level experience. Typically requires 5+ years of experience in communications or a related field. Experience supporting internal communications, project communications, or business initiatives. Experience drafting, editing, and coordinating written communications for internal audiences. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work effectively in an office or professional business environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and work under general direction. Proficiency with standard business and communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, intranet or collaboration platforms).
