About Our Client: Addison Group is hiring for our client, a respected nonprofit organization serving individuals with disabilities and behavioral health needs throughout the Chicago area. The role partners closely with leadership and plays a visible part in supporting organizational initiatives.
Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for a short-term contract engagement. This individual will step in quickly to support day-to-day HR operations, with a strong emphasis on employee relations, compliance, and organizational support. The ideal candidate is adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable navigating sensitive workplace situations.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations concerns, advising managers and staff on workplace matters Lead and document internal investigations, ensuring alignment with policies and regulatory requirements Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation Assist with compliance initiatives, including participation in periodic internal audits Review HR data and provide insights to support leadership decision-making Support payroll-related administrative tasks such as updates to employee records and compensation changes Utilize HRIS systems to manage employee information and workflows Collaborate with leadership across multiple departments to support ongoing initiatives Provide occasional support with hiring and recruitment activities Qualifications: Strong background in employee relations and workplace investigations Exposure to union environments is required Familiarity with payroll processes and back-end HR operations Ability to quickly adapt and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally Additional Details: Contract duration: approximately 60 days with potential for extension Business casual work environment Easily accessible via public transportation, with parking options available nearby Perks: High-impact, mission-driven work Direct exposure to senior leadership Collaborative and team-oriented culture Opportunity to step into a visible role and make an immediate contribution
