Commercial Estimator

Our client, a growing commercial construction firm, is seeking a motivated Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in shaping winning bids for a variety of commercial projects- from early concept through final pricing.
You’ll be working closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to develop accurate, competitive estimates that directly impact project success. This is a strong opportunity for an early-career estimator who wants real ownership, exposure to diverse project types, and a clear path for growth within a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
What You’ll Do Build detailed cost estimates and bid packages for commercial construction projects Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals to ensure competitive pricing Help develop scopes of work and identify risks, gaps, and value-engineering opportunities early in the process Partner with project managers, superintendents, and the broader preconstruction team throughout the bidding lifecycle Maintain organized, reliable documentation of estimates, assumptions, and historical cost data Support cost-saving initiatives and creative solutions that improve project outcomes Manage multiple bids at once while working within tight deadlines
What We’re Looking For 2–3 years of estimating experience in commercial construction Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications with confidence Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software tools Highly organized with strong analytical and time management skills Clear communicator who works well across internal teams and external partners Experience with subcontractor bid leveling and procurement processes Exposure to healthcare, infrastructure, or public-sector projects is a plus
