POSITION TITLE: Century Kids Director
POSITION REPORTS TO: Executive Minister
JOB STATUS: Full-time (40 hours per week)
OBJECTIVE
Lead Century Kids Ministry through developing a comprehensive program of Christian discipleship and outreach that will reach and disciple the kids of Century Church and their parents, and families of the community.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Implement the Core Values of Century Church: Community First, Relationships Matter, Grow Forever, and Choose Adventure into Century Kids Ministry.
With the help of Lead Team, continue to develop the vision of Kid’s Ministry and implement it in each phase of growth for Century Church and the church campus.
Participate in weekly Staff Meetings giving updates for Kids Ministry.
Oversee and be the lead of the Century Kids Traction process and Century Kids Ministry meetings.
Oversee the recruitment, development, training, organization, and deployment of Kids Ministry volunteers.
Personally build strong relationships with volunteers and parents to equip and engage them for ministry to disciple the kids of Century Church. Plan a quarterly strategy of how to accomplish this with both parents and volunteers.
Manage all kid’s ministry staff that work with infancy through fifth grade. Oversee the roles they play of curriculum, event planning, communications etc.
Maintain the integrity of the kids Bible teaching time by ensuring the instruction is consistent with the doctrinal convictions of the church.
Identify and execute ministry and missions opportunities in which children may participate.
In consultation with other Century Kid’s leaders and Lead Team, help develop an annual budget for Kids Ministry and operate within the constraints of that budget yearly, along with coding and turning in all receipts.
Review all curriculum used in Kids Ministry and ensure it is consistent with the church’s doctrinal commitments.
Oversee and maintain Safe Sanctuary guidelines and with the help of Century’s Trustees Team, follow guidelines recommended for safety in our church’s care.
Choose, plan, prep, and send curriculum to volunteers.
Be intentional to build relationships through visiting the schools for lunches and kids’ events.
Coordinate events with shared spaces with partnerships of The Well.
Plan Club Orange with Kids Ministry Assistant’s help.
Other duties as they arise or are assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Committed and growing follower of Christ, a servant leader.
A love for children and willingness to connect with them and their families.
Knowledge of curriculum and experience in teaching a variety of grade and age levels.
Strong communication and management skills.
The ability to recruit volunteers and engage them to be a part of the mission of Century Kids.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
CONTINUING EDUCATION DESIRED Various seminars and workshops along with additional reading and meetings needed.
