POSITION:
Senior Human Resource Specialist
LOCATION: North Franklin Educational Center - Malone, NY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes human resource information, including appointments, separations, promotions, increases or benefits into a database to facilitate subsequent processes.
Assures accuracy of data entry and all human resource records.
Prepares and maintains accurate staffing reports and projections.
Handles inquiries from administrators throughout the district on staffing needs.
Answers employee questions concerning various HR transactions pursuant to the individual’s collective bargaining agreement including payroll, benefits, leave of absence, and workers’ compensation.
Resolves HR transaction discrepancies, including unusual or difficult issues.
Prepares original correspondence to employees, HR vendors and others.
Supervises HR Department staff and provides daily oversight of the Human Resources Department.
Prepares Civil Service paperwork and correspondence.
Processes information pertaining to various other HR transactions including recruiting, grievance handling, unemployment insurance, benefits programs, and workers' compensation.
Assists new employees on the use of HR information systems and processes.
Develops and makes recommendations to improve efficiencies in the office.
Prepares reports using computer-based application to create spreadsheets, manipulating data as needed.
Maintains electronic and hard copy files and records as required.
Helps ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, including FLSA, IRCA, ADA, FMLA, TITLE IX, HIPAA among others.
Maintains confidentiality with respect to all HR information and transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS: Civil Service status as a Senior Human Resource Specialist.
STARTING DATE: June 2026
SALARY: $55,000 - $70,000 based on experience.
