Job Summary
Under the direction of the Campus Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program, the incumbent is responsible for providing a comprehensive program for academically and financially disadvantaged students. Serving as a case manager to a cohort of students, the Assistant Director will provide academic, career, and financial advising to assigned students to ensure persistence to graduation. The incumbent will also manage all aspects of caseload needs, including providing programs, seminars, and workshops regarding adjustment and transition issues related to academic and student development, to enhance student success (persistence, retention, and performance). As Recruitment Coordinator, the incumbent will participate in all aspects of the admissions process as it relates to EOF recruitment. As Academic Coordinator, the incumbent will also oversee the academic component and provide academic support to all program participants.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Guidance/Counseling, Psychology, Education, or other appropriate academic disciplines. A Baccalaureate Degree and relevant experience may be substituted for the Master’s Degree.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working with academically and economically disadvantaged students is preferred.
Experience in college recruitment, admission, advisement, and facilitating workshops.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Experience in utilizing computer systems for word processing, data management, and other applications.
Must be available to work non-standard hours and have a flexible schedule as needed.
A valid driver’s license is required, and the ability to travel to off-site locations as needed.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing background check.
