
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Intern - Electronic Parts

Overview
AV is seeking a Systems Engineering intern to support multiple efforts within the Space Technologies business unit. This role will work across engineering disciplines to manage lifecycle of high‑reliability electronic components in a PLM environment.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain part records and attributes in PLM
Review datasheets, material declarations, RoHS/REACH, and ITAR/EAR classifications
Maintain lifecycle status, preferred/alternate parts, and obsolescence flags
Support BOM accuracy and part‑to‑product traceability
Identify at‑risk components and research replacements
Standardize naming conventions and classification structures
Conduct data quality audits and improve workflows
Qualifications
Currently pursuing an engineering degree from an accredited university (BS in EE/ME/IE/SE/CS or related)
U.S. Citizenship required
Familiarity with electronic components (passives, semiconductors, connectors, power)
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred experience with PLM/CAD/EDA tools (Arena, Altium, SolidWorks)
Desired Skills
Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects
Strong technical documentation skills
Ability to work in teams and collaborate with peers and internal customers
Strong analytical skills; comfortable with quantitative and qualitative dataQuick learner
Active listener and curious
Effective communication and high energy
