Develop new business, manage assigned Brokers, select advantageous risks and build a profitable portfolio of accounts.
Represent Beacon Aviation and meet with identified insurance Brokers to develop relationships and promote your company's products and services. Work with the underwriting department to analyze the financial risk of applicants that come in through that Broker and determine if they qualify for coverage. Monitor loss ratios for Carriers and Brokers and take corrective action when possible to remain profitable. Regularly make marketing presentations to prospective clients.
Manage and develop Broker performance and the book of business through personal analysis. Analyze information in insurance applications, supplemental reports, studies, data and related information in order to determine if a risk meets acceptable criteria.
The Production Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and marketing accounts throughout approved states/territories. The Production Underwriter is a key part of the production underwriting capabilities of Beacon Aviation. This position will report to the AVP of Underwriting and job grade will be based on experience and capabilities. The Production underwriter will own the results of their book of business and will engage in activities tied to risk selection and to customer service.
The Production Underwriter role can be filled by individuals with experience as underwriters with a carrier, MGA/MGU or Broker side. We are also willing to train the right candidate. If you have a growth mind set, individual accountability, critical thinking, and are detail oriented.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities*** Production underwriter owns the results of their book of business and will be compensated on annual and long-term profitability.* A production underwriter maintains balance between distribution and risk selection to drive profitable growth.* A production underwriter understands how their book fits in to the broader portfolio strategy.* A production underwriter has agent/broker relationships.* Engages in activities to generate submissions* Maintains and leads the relationship with their assigned Brokers.* Engages in activities to close accounts**Relationship Management*** Work with key internal stakeholders to develop and maintain product-specific business development plans identifying, segmenting, detailing and evaluating potential broker prospects, and executing such plan to ensure that Amynta generates targeted levels of growth and ‘hit’ ratios in this market.* Lead in the education of the broker market on the products in a way that creates a need to buy, highlights our competitive differentiation, illustrate the need for service led products to grow the brand and facilitate the placement of new business.* Track metrics around broker engagements maintaining actions and follow ups from visits and share client and broker feedback on product with key stakeholders in a structured manner.* Ensure we remain front of mind of brokers by planning and engaging in regular virtual/face-to-face meetings while acting as a contact point for broker queries and product education engaging in appropriate communication.**Underwriting*** Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio in support of business plans.* Structure tailor-made solutions by considering the team underwriting parameters and underwriting exposures leveraging underwriting knowledge and experience to win new business and retain existing.* Monitor premiums, costs and claims ratios per contract and take corrective measures if necessary, to ensure long term profitability at account level.* Comply with underwriting control standards for business written through delegated authority.## ## Additional Responsibilities### ·Engage with all levels of leadership to solve problems### ·Assist in development of internal and external materialsSupport business unit leadership with presentations and special projects as assignedThe Amynta Group (the “**Company**”) is committed to a policy of Equal Employment Opportunity and will not discriminate against an applicant or employee on the basis of any ground of discrimination protected by applicable human rights legislation.
