
Instructional Designer

Responsibilities
Analyze learner needs and collaborate with SMEs to design and develop effective learning solutions.
Conduct needs‑analysis discussions with stakeholders to define project scope and requirements.
Plan, design, write, and edit instructional materials, including e‑learning, simulations, guides, tutorials, and assessments.
Coordinate and manage instructional design projects using ADDIE.
Maintain and update training content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business goals.
Develop supplemental learning assets such as job aids, infographics, and other multimedia resources.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design Technology or related field.
Instructional design experience in e‑learning, in‑person, and blended learning.
Experience applying learning frameworks and ADDIE.
Understanding of adult learning principles.
Experience with project and stakeholder management.
Background in Energy, Corporate L&D, Healthcare, or Higher Education preferred.
Experience with Co‑pilot and AI add‑on for Articulate 360 preferred.
Required Technical Skills
Proficiency with Articulate 360, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Suite (portfolio required).
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to work effectively in virtual conferencing platforms (Webex, Teams).
Ability to develop and maintain instructional materials including multimedia, simulations, and e‑learning.
Ability to manage project plans, timelines, and documentation.
What Success Looks Like Designing highly interactive, effective content that supports organizational outcomes; building trusted partnerships with subject matter experts across Operations; gaining a foundational understanding of MISO’s business and how Technical Development drives value; demonstrating MISO’s core values in daily work.
Salary: Base salary compensation range $79,000‑104,000 annually, plus annual bonus potential and comprehensive benefits package including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time available from day one.
Appropriate level will be determined based on experience and knowledge.
