Job Description
WSP USA hosts hundreds of internships across the United States to provide hands‑on, meaningful work experience that enhances education and professional aptitude. Our interns work alongside senior staff on real projects, gaining mentorship and lifelong career connections through the Developing Professionals Network.

The Strategic Growth Team is seeking a full‑time Marketing Intern based in Herndon, VA (locations Washington, DC; Virginia Beach, VA also considered). This temporary role is for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. The internship is part of the WSP Summer Internship Program, a 12‑week program scheduled to start on May 18 2026. The individual start date may be flexible.

Your Impact

Support development and authoring of content for WSP proposals and other marketing deliverables.

Provide copy editing, proofreading, and review support for proposals and other marketing collateral.

Gather information through research, statistical reports, and interviews with technical staff to write content for proposals and other marketing collateral.

Understand the pursuit and sales process from early identification to the win.

Approach tasks with consistency, keeping quality and strong design at the forefront.

Assist with managing, monitoring, and maintaining existing databases for accuracy.

Collaborate with the rest of the Strategic Growth Team, including other marketing consultants and graphic designers.

Complete training on assigned tasks.

Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications

Actively enrolled in an accredited Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.

Must be 18 or older.

Demonstrated interest in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.

Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non‑engineering audience.

Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.

Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

Actively enrolled in an accredited Masters or PhD program in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.

Experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint, and other communications‑related software programs.

Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.

Compensation
Expected Salary (DC only): $23.47 – $30.53 per hour. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
