We design and operate global systems for data labeling, data capture, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI and robotics teams. These products are used daily by operators, contributors, country managers, and customers across multiple countries.

The Role We’re hiring a Senior UI/UX Designer based in Toronto to own product design end-to-end across Mecka’s web and mobile applications.
This is a 0→1 design role . You’ll build design systems from scratch, shape product direction, and turn complex operational workflows into beautiful, intuitive experiences . You’ll work closely with engineers, operators, and founders, shipping quickly and iterating in real production environments.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in early‑stage startups and balances taste, speed, and practicality .
What You’ll Work On Product & UX Design Design end-to-end user experiences for:
Web applications
Mobile applications
Internal operational tools
Translate complex workflows (labeling, capture, ops) into clear, usable interfaces
Own user flows, information architecture, and interaction design
Design Systems (0→1) Build and evolve Mecka’s design system from scratch
Define components, patterns, and visual language
Ensure consistency across products while enabling fast iteration
Partner closely with engineers to ensure designs ship cleanly and scale well
AI-Assisted Design & Prototyping Use modern AI design and coding tools to accelerate iteration
Build functional prototypes using tools like Claude Code, Codex , and similar
Rapidly validate ideas by pairing design with lightweight implementation
Help define how AI-assisted workflows fit into Mecka’s design process
Collaboration & Shipping Work closely with frontend engineers to ship high-quality UI
Partner directly with founders and ops teams to understand real user needs
Ship quickly, test in production, and iterate based on feedback
Balance polish with speed — knowing when “good enough” is the right call
Who You Are Required Experience 6+ years of experience in UI/UX or product design
Proven experience taking products from 0→1
Experience building design systems from scratch
Strong portfolio showing end-to-end product ownership
Experience designing web applications (mobile is a strong plus)
Strong Signals Experience designing mobile apps (iOS, Android, or cross‑platform)
Comfort using AI-powered design and prototyping tools
Ability to go from idea → prototype → shipped UI quickly
Strong visual taste paired with pragmatic UX judgment
Experience shipping fast in early‑stage or fast‑moving environments
You Are Opinionated, but collaborative
Fast, pragmatic, and detail‑oriented
Comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete requirements
Excited to build foundational systems, not just features
