Provide career-related assistance to students and share valuable resources with your peers
Engage with campus leaders to develop new partnerships around campus
Network and engage with students, employers, faculty, and staff
Prepare to meet personal and professional goals
Enhance your résumé, LinkedIn Profile and boost your professional presence
Gain transferable career skills in key career readiness areas
Develop leadership skills
Provides students the opportunity to serve as representatives of Career Discovery and Success and explore aspects of marketing, public relations, hospitality, and event management. Ambassadors act as a valuable source of information and strengthen Career Discovery and Success’s engagement with the Auburn University community on a peer‑to‑peer level.
In person promotions include concourse tabling, visiting classrooms and student organization meetings to promote events and opportunities to connect with Career Discovery and Success, Employers, and Alumni. Career Connections Ambassadors are expected to support all major events hosted by Career Discovery and Success, as well as provide traffic flow support during peak times within the office.
Those who serve as an Ambassador are also expected to engage in mandatory training, regular meetings, and supervision, as well as pre‑schedule professional development sessions. Ambassadors also play a vital role in the recruitment and training of future Ambassadors.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Content Creation:
Create engaging content for social media, including photography, videography, and short‑form video
Design graphics and promotional materials to support events and campaigns
Assist in developing creative marketing strategies to increase student engagement
Promote Career Discovery and Success programs through digital and in‑person outreach
Event Support & Execution:
Assist with event preparation, including logistics, materials, and setup
Support day‑of event execution, including check‑in, guest assistance, and troubleshooting
Help manage event flow and provide excellent customer service to attendees
Participate in event tear‑down and post‑event wrap‑up
Outreach & Engagement:
Represent Career Discovery and Success at campus events, tabling opportunities, and presentations
Support outreach efforts by visiting classrooms and student organizations
Professionalism & Leadership:
Collaborate with fellow ambassadors and staff on projects and initiatives
Contribute to the recruitment and mentorship of future Career Ambassadors
This role is ideal for students interested in marketing, public relations, communications, hospitality, or event management who want to gain meaningful, hands‑on experience while serving the Auburn community.
Qualifications Expectations:
Commit at least two full semesters
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75
Available for Mandatory Training/Orientation Session prior to start of Fall semester
Attend pre‑scheduled, regular Ambassador meetings, supervision, and professional development sessions
Commit to a minimum 32 hours per semester
Preferred applicants for Career Connections have a major in marketing, communication, journalism, graphic design, media studies, public relations, hospitality, event management or related fields.
