Veterans shape the future of energy As a Director, National Laboratory Programs, you will: Provide leadership and expert consultation on technology transfer, commercialization, and innovation to senior executives within the DOE and other interagency bodies. Serve as a recognized technical authority in engineering and physical sciences, offering advice on complex issues and emerging technology sectors such as quantum fusion, critical minerals; protecting data in an AI-powered innovation economy, and implementing high-impact partnership mechanisms and models. Lead and implement pioneering technology transfer and commercialization initiatives that define the Office of Technology Commercialization's approach to public-private collaboration across National Laboratories. Exercise executive leadership over assessments of DOE programs and laboratories, evaluating performance, identifying challenges, and directing corrective actions. Provide guidance and technical direction for key DOE Lab Commercialization programs, including the Technology Commercialization Fund, Energy I-Corps, and Lab-to-Market programs. Supervise a diverse staff of scientists, engineers, and program managers, including setting priorities, allocating resources, evaluating performance, and managing staff development.
