
Marketing & Communications Intern

The Marketing & Communications Intern will support the marketing team in executing content, branding, and communication initiatives across digital and internal platforms. This role is designed to provide hands‑on experience in a professional healthcare marketing environment, allowing the intern to develop practical skills in media marketing, content creation, and brand communications.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels
Support content creation for websites, blogs, social media, and internal communications
Help draft and edit marketing materials including emails, flyers, and promotional content
Conduct research on market trends, competitors, and audience insights
Assist with social media planning, scheduling, and performance tracking
Support SEO initiatives, including keyword research and content optimization
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for marketing strategies and campaigns
Assist with organizing and maintaining marketing assets and content libraries
Support internal communication efforts, including employee engagement initiatives
Learning Objectives
Gain real‑world experience in a professional marketing environment aligned with career goals
Develop a deeper understanding of healthcare marketing and communications strategy
Build skills in content creation, digital marketing, and brand management
Strengthen interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Develop professional relationships within the organization
Create work samples suitable for inclusion in a professional portfolio
Complete a written summary reflecting on the internship experience
Gain exposure to cross‑functional collaboration to understand how marketing supports and partners with other departments across the organization
Supervision & Support
The intern will report directly to our Digital Marketing Manager and will also receive mentorship and strategic guidance from the Chief Marketing Officer
Ongoing mentorship and guidance will be provided to support professional development
The intern will receive a mid‑term and final performance evaluation, which will be shared with the faculty supervisor
The organization will participate in a scheduled video visitation with the faculty supervisor
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Communications Media (Media Marketing concentration or related field)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Interest in marketing, branding, and digital media
Basic knowledge of social media platforms and marketing tools
Organized, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Additional Notes This internship is designed to provide a meaningful, educational experience that supports the intern’s academic and career development goals while contributing to the organization’s marketing initiatives.
Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to write, dictate or use a keyboard to communicate directives.
Utilizes proper body mechanics in multiple environments.
