Job Description
As a Freelance Copy Content Specialist, you will be the engine behind Conair’s Product Detail Page (PDP) program. Working closely with the Associate Creative Director (Copy), you will create and optimize high‑converting content for both new product launches and existing SKUs. This role is for a writer who loves the intersection of storytelling and data—someone who can craft a compelling brand narrative while ensuring every word is SEO‑optimized and technically sound. You will help execute a conversion‑minded vision across a high‑volume pipeline, primarily focused on Amazon and other major retail platforms.
Responsibilities
Write and optimize copy for a wide range of Conair SKUs, ensuring all content—from titles and bullets to below‑the‑fold A+ storytelling—is clear and scannable.
Maintain a consistent voice across the Conair brand portfolio, adhering to specific tone guidance and messaging guardrails so every product feels differentiated yet cohesive.
Apply an eagle‑eye to all work, maintaining high standards for grammar, punctuation, and brand‑specific writing requirements.
Collaborate with the Digital Experience and Strategy team (DEX) to translate SEO/GEO keyword strategies into natural, benefit‑led copy.
Use data and feedback (including tools like Vizit) to continually iterate on headlines and benefit ordering to improve performance and clarity.
Manage content copy matrixes , developing clear structures and flows that allow copy to move efficiently through the production pipeline.
Ensure copy readiness for publishing by checking accuracy against product specs and claim substantiation, ensuring content is ready for PIM/DAM workflows.
Partner cross‑functionally with Design and Studio teams to ensure that visual and verbal elements land together perfectly.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in copywriting (agency or in‑house) with a strong portfolio showing an ability to simplify complex product features into sharp, benefit‑led headlines.
Deep familiarity with eCommerce and PDP structures (Amazon preferred), including an understanding of retailer constraints and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Products and experience managing content within Digital Asset Management (DAM) programs or cloud‑based tools like Airtable.
A builder mindset : Comfortable working within repeatable copy systems (templates, claim patterns) and proactively flagging accuracy or disclosure risks.
Knowledge of PXM/PIM environments (e.g., Salsify) is a major plus, specifically writing in structured fields and managing versioning.
Compensation
Hourly up to $60/hr. Open to freelancers, independent contractors, or temporary on payroll.
