This position is also eligible for incentive pay; details will be provided during the hiring process.Benefits: Portalus offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid sick leave in accordance with Washington state law, a flexible paid time off policy, and company holidays.About the RoleThe Broker Channel Sales Professional is responsible for developing, managing, and growing the broker distribution channel for the Association Health Plan (AHP). This role exists to drive scalable growth by increasing broker engagement, quote activity, and quotetoclose performance. By providing consistent, proactive support to broker partners, this position unlocks a key growth channel.This role reports to the VP, Benefits and plays a critical part in strengthening the organizations market presence, expanding association membership, and delivering predictable, recurring premium revenue.Key ResponsibilitiesBroker Relationship ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for broker partners.Maintain consistent communication with active and highpotential brokers.Provide timely support, followup, and guidance throughout the quoting and proposal process.Build longterm broker loyalty through responsiveness, education, and trust.Broker Recruitment & ActivationIdentify, recruit, and onboard new brokers in the target market, with an initial focus on Clark County.Reactivate dormant or underperforming broker relationships.Deliver onboarding, training, and plan education to improve broker confidence and plan adoption.Sales Pipeline & Quote GrowthIncrease brokergenerated quote volume through proactive outreach and structured account management.Improve quotetoclose ratios by supporting brokers with plan positioning, competitive differentiation, and followthrough.Track and manage broker pipelines to ensure consistent progress toward closing opportunities.Market & Competitive IntelligenceGather feedback and insights from brokers on pricing, benefits, competitors, and market trends.Share actionable insights with internal stakeholders to strengthen plan offerings and sales processes.Collaboration & Channel AlignmentWork closely with the Direct Channel Sales Manager to ensure clear ownership between broker and direct sales channels.Support crossfunctional alignment with marketing, operations, and underwriting (as applicable).Qualifications & CompetenciesRequired:4+ years of sales, account management, business development representative experience in employee benefits, insurance, health plans, or a brokerdriven environmentProven success working with independent brokers or distribution partnersStrong consultative selling, relationship management, and followup skillsAbility to manage multiple opportunities and prioritize effectivelyActive Health Insurance Producer LicensePreferred:Experience with association health plans or group health productsUnderstanding of small and midsized employer marketsFamiliarity with quoting systems and CRM toolsKey CompetenciesRelationshipdriven sales approachStrong communication and presentation skillsSelfmotivated and resultsorientedOrganized, responsive, and customerfocusedComfortable operating independently while collaborating crossfunctionallyEvery position requires certain physical capabilities.
