Sr Analyst, Marketing & Retention

Baxter Credit Union, Vernon Hills, IL, United States

Job Description

Salary range: $80,000 – $120,000 USD per year. Summary

This role plays a critical role in driving long-term engagement by translating data into clear insights and strategic action. It partners closely with marketing and other internal teams to understand member behavior, optimize acquisition and re‑engagement efforts, and translate insights into actionable strategies. This role goes beyond reporting to shape strategy—helping BCU understand what’s working, what’s not, and where to invest for the greatest impact. Role and Responsibilities

Collaborate with marketing and business partners to design and build target audiences across email, direct mail, social media, push notifications, mobile app advertising, and other paid media channels, using demographic, psychographic, behavioral, and financial segmentation. Analyze member behavior, lifecycle journeys, and segment performance to identify high‑value and high‑risk members, uncover root causes of attrition, and surface retention and re‑engagement opportunities. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives using segmentation, attribution, and funnel analysis, quantifying impact on engagement, growth, retention, and revenue. Design, develop, and own data visualizations, dashboards, and reporting that track campaign performance, channel effectiveness, retention KPIs, ROI, click‑through and conversion rates, and Active‑to‑Dormant lifecycle movement. Maintain and enhance churn prediction models, audience selection logic, and early warning indicators to enable proactive outreach and re‑engagement strategies. Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights and recommendations, presenting findings to leadership and marketing partners, and supporting implementation of data‑driven strategies. Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across analyses and reporting; partner with data and technology teams to support multi‑channel data integration across CRM, CDP (e.g., Salesforce Data 360), digital banking, and marketing platforms. Manage analytics intake and delivery, scoping requests, prioritizing work, and balancing multiple initiatives while providing timely insights. Continuously identify opportunities to improve analytics tools, processes, and methodologies, including leveraging AI‑enabled analytics, CDP capabilities, and automation within Salesforce ecosystems to accelerate insight generation and decision‑making. Provide ad‑hoc analytics, insights, and reporting support to the marketing team, proactively addressing emerging questions and analytical needs. Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, or related field. 3+ years of experience in an analytical role, with experience in financial services a plus. 2+ years of experience working with relational databases, including writing SQL queries and building dashboards and visualizations in Power BI. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas. Preferred experience working with CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, supporting audience segmentation, campaign measurement, and lifecycle journeys. Preferred experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), such as Salesforce Data 360 or similar solutions, including unifying member data across channels and systems. Familiarity with AI‑enabled analytics tools, or a strong interest in applying AI to accelerate data analysis and insight generation. Ability to connect performance metrics to business outcomes, including revenue impact, member retention, and initiative effectiveness. Solid understanding of marketing analytics, including audience segmentation, member lifecycle and journeys, attribution, and funnel metrics (lead generation, campaign performance, conversion rates). Strong analytical storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner cross‑functionally and manage multiple priorities. Curiosity and interest in innovation, including continuous learning and new approaches to analytics. Benefits and Culture
