Barr’s is looking for a markets reporter to cover equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. This core reporting role involves breaking news and developing authoritative analysis on deadline.
Qualifications
Knowledgeable about equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities, with the ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear, compelling journalism that serves both sophisticated investors and general readers.
Strong news instincts and a sense of timing – knowing when a story needs to move fast and when deeper reporting is required.
Fluid writer capable of shifting between short digital updates and longer analytical pieces without losing authority or precision.
Skilled at cultivating and maintaining sources across Wall Street, asset management, and corporate finance.
Comfortable working with data and collaborating with designers on charts and visualizations that sharpen a story’s argument.
Enthusiastic about the pace of daily markets coverage while advancing longer‑term stories.
Minimum of three years of experience in financial journalism with a demonstrated track record of markets coverage.
