The Gastroenterology Health & Science Sales Specialist is responsible for launching new products, determining the best strategies to manage business relationships, understanding formulary access, and engaging in product promotion within assigned accounts. The role includes sales efforts and relationship development with assigned customers and accounts, including Therapeutic Area Specialists and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
Key responsibilities include building rapport and relationships with customers across virtual and in-person environments, managing and documenting call objectives, utilizing digital tools, providing insights for product messaging, and supporting patients’ access to Pfizer products through reimbursement information and patient assistance programs.
What You Will Achieve
Launching new products, managing business relationships, engaging HCPs in both virtual and face‑to‑face settings, and driving product demand through compliant messaging. You will collaborate cross‑functionally, use data to inform insights, and help physicians switch prescribing behaviors.
How You Will Achieve It
Identify and implement efficient virtual/in‑person engagement strategies.
Build rapport with customers and maintain a methodical approach to call objectives.
Deliver relevant, targeted messaging using approved materials and tools such as Veeva Engage, Zoom, and Microsoft Office.
Leverage product and disease‑state knowledge to educate providers on value propositions.
Coordinate with HCPs and office staff to plan engagements in multiple formats.
Strategically deploy approved Pfizer resources to support provider and patient needs.
Provide patients with access information via Reimbursement, Patient Assistant Program (PAP), and Co‑Pay resources.
Present terms of sale and answer on‑label questions.
Collaborate with cross‑functional colleagues including Field Medical, Reimbursement, and Key Account Management.
Use calendaring tools and insights from customer surveys to prioritize calls.
Must Haves
Bachelor’s Degree or associate’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or high school diploma with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Minimum of 3 years of prior pharmaceutical or biotech marketing/promotional/sales experience in a specialized market.
History of marketing, promotional, or sales success with strong territory management skills.
Must live within 50 miles of the territory.
Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards.
Nice‑to‑Haves
3‑5 years specialty marketing/promotional/sales experience.
Strong knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products.
Deep understanding of applicable customers and markets.
Strategic account marketing, promotional, sales, and management skills.
Superior marketing, promotional, sales, technical, and relationship building skills.
Track record of assessing account needs and providing relevant resources.
Strong business acumen, problem‑solving, strategic thinking, data analytics, and project management skills.
Ability to engage, influence, and support customers throughout the marketing, promotional, and sales process.
Comfortable working in a matrix environment and leveraging multiple resources.
Experience working with key thought leaders or high‑influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations.
Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
NON‑STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel to all accounts/office locations within the territory.
May be required to stay overnight as necessary.

The annual base salary ranges from $114,500 - $222,100. The position offers quarterly sales incentive bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid vacation, holiday, and personal days, caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits covering medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage.
