Camp Director
CHRISTIAN CAMP AND CONFERENCE ASSOCIATION, Lake Ann, MI, United States
Lake Ann Camp is hiring a Camp Director: the chief operational leader who takes a God‑given vision and builds the systems, teams, and culture to make it real. The Executive Director of Lake Ann Camp sets the vision. He leads spiritually, drives external relationships, and oversees faithfulness to our mission and vision. The Camp Director owns everything behind that.
Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day operations. Department leadership. Staff accountability.
Systems that hold up under the pressure of 250 people serving hundreds of campers at full speed. This person doesn’t wait for direction on the details; they build the infrastructure that makes the mission possible.
The kind of leader who gets genuine satisfaction from watching a complex operation run clean, who feels called to make someone else’s vision reach its potential, and who believes operational excellence is itself a form of ministry.
Summer At peak summer, Lake Ann Camp mobilizes 250 staff across a full program calendar. The Camp Director is the operational authority during that season, and the architect of the systems that make it work year‑round.
Innovation You’ll be building as much as you’re managing. There is meaningful infrastructure to create here, not just maintain. HR systems. Accountability structures. Quality controls. Budget oversight on a $5–6 million operation. This is a role for someone who sees a blank whiteboard and feels energized.
Leadership You’ll be leading people: four direct reports, with four additional leaders in your orbit. Your ability to develop, challenge, and hold those leaders accountable will determine how far this ministry can grow.
Who We’re Looking For We’re open to candidates coming from ministry environments and from the marketplace. What we’re looking for is less about your resume category and more about how you’re built. The right person for this role:
Finishes things consistently, at a high standard.
Thrives in the second chair. Not because they couldn’t lead at the top, but because they genuinely find fulfillment in making a shared vision succeed.
Builds systems that outlast them. They don’t create dependency; they create freestanding infrastructure.
Holds people accountable with clarity and care. They have hard conversations without losing the relationship.
Brings mature, active faith. Evident in how they lead and how they treat people.
Can handle a season that goes from 50 to 250 staff in a matter of weeks and back again. Summer camp operations is a category unto itself.
