Key Responsibilities • Data Source Integration: Support the expansion of the data lakehouse by adding two new data sources: PowerFaids (Financial Aid) and StarRez (Housing/Residence Life). This expansion is essential to enable a more complete dataset for our Enrollment Research & Analytics team to utilize. • Data Architecture Alignment: Ensure the new integrations follow the established data lakehouse framework and conform to enterprise data modeling and governance standards. • Initial Data Load Expertise: Responsible for all phases of data ingestion, including performing the initial bulk data load from both PowerFaids and StarRez into the staging environment to establish the baseline historical dataset. • Pipeline Development & Maintenance: Design and implement robust incremental data loading procedures for both sources to ensure accurate data and optimal change data capture. • ETL/ELT Tooling: Required to have hands-on experience with SnapLogic (integrations middleware platform)to develop and manage data pipelines (Snaps/Pipelines) for extraction, transformation, and loading. This includes setting up and managing scheduled tasks within the SnapLogic environment.

Data Storage and Modeling: • Expertise in Snowflake is mandatory for storing, modeling, and querying the data. This involves ensuring data is efficiently moved through different layers of curation (raw, staging, integrated) before landing in the final target data model.

Data Integrity & Documentation: • Accountable for accurately documenting all data transformations and business rules applied to the PowerFaids and StarRez data to ensure data lineage, maintain transparency, and comply with auditing requirements.

Troubleshooting & Support: • Must possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose and resolve issues within the data pipelines and scheduled processes, minimizing data downtime. • Preferred Domain Experience: Experience with Workday (specifically Workday Student) is strongly preferred, as future projects may involve integration or data validation with this ERP system.

Key skills and qualifications: • Strong hands-on experience with the Snowflake platform. • Proficiency in SQL. • Experience with programming languages like Python (including Snowpark) is a plus but not required. • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data pipeline concepts. • Experience with Tableau is a plus, but not required. • Familiarity with cloud-native services and other data platforms (e.g., AWS). • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
