Title: Hexagon Technical Consultant
Location: St Paul MN - Hybrid
Duration: 6 + Months Temp to hire
Pay: $75-$90
We are seeking a Hexagon Technical Consultant to support the implementation of a new Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) using Hexagon EAM (HxGN EAM / Octave). This role combines hands - on technical delivery with subject matter expertise, influencing solution quality through guidance, best practices, and technical recommendations.
The consultant operates under the direction of the Technical Lead or Architect and is expected to shape outcomes through expertise rather than formal ownership.
Responsibilities
Technical Configuration & Delivery
Configure Hexagon EAM modules including Asset Management, Work Management, Maintenance, and Inventory
Develop and support customizations, workflows, and extensions
Ensure configurations align with defined architecture, platform standards, and best practices
Technical Advisory (SME)
Provide expert guidance on Hexagon EAM capabilities, constraints, and design trade - offs
Advise on:
Asset hierarchies and data structures
Preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
Configuration vs. customization decisions
Identify design gaps, risks, or inefficiencies and recommend sustainable solutions
Integration & Interfaces
Implement and support integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, GIS, SCADA)
Advise on integration patterns, performance considerations, and error handling
Troubleshoot and optimize interfaces as needed
Data Migration & Quality
Support data migration activities including mapping, transformation, and validation
Provide guidance on data standards, cleansing strategies, and asset data governance
Identify risks related to data quality and long - term maintainability
Testing & Quality Assurance
Execute unit and system testing
Support integration and UAT cycles
Provide input on test coverage, edge cases, and quality improvements
Performance & Sustainability
Support performance tuning and optimization
Identify potential bottlenecks and recommend scalable, maintainable solutions
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Produce and maintain technical documentation
Participate in knowledge transfer sessions
Provide practical guidance to client teams on system usage and support
Collaboration & Technical Influence
Collaborate with Technical Leads, functional teams, and SMEs
Participate in design workshops and provide informed technical input
Constructively challenge and validate technical decisions
Required Qualifications
Strong hands - on experience implementing Hexagon EAM (HxGN EAM / Octave)
Proven ability to act as a technical SME for EAM solutions
Experience with:
Enterprise system integrations (APIs, middleware)
SQL and relational databases
Experience working on enterprise - scale implementations
Strong problem - solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to balance best practices with project constraints
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in asset - intensive industries (utilities, manufacturing, energy, transportation, etc.)
Familiarity with performance tuning, scalability, and long - term system support models
Experience supporting global or distributed project teams
