We're seeking a

Senior DB2z Database Administrator (DBA)

to join a large enterprise mainframe team supporting mission-critical Tier 1 and Tier 2 applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in DB2z on z/OS, performance tuning, automation, and mainframe data replication, along with experience supporting high-availability environments.

DB2z on z/OS, DB2 Data Sharing, IIDR (SQL & Q Replication), IDAA, performance tuning, automation (JCL/REXX scripting), Omegamon, Query Monitor, capacity planning, backup/recovery, and mainframe production support.

Remote Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience as a Mainframe DB2z DBA in large-scale enterprise environments. Strong experience with DB2 Data Sharing,

IIDR (SQL Replication and Q Replication), and IDAA. Solid understanding of performance tuning, query optimization, and system automation. Proven experience supporting production-critical workloads and performing root cause analysis. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Zowe and Admin Foundation for DB2. Familiarity with IDMS and ServiceNow. Experience in automation, scripting, and capacity management in complex environments. Key Responsibilities: Execute DDL and DML requests for application and business teams across production, test, and development environments. Develop and maintain JCL and REXX scripts to manage, monitor, and automate database activities and reporting. Configure and support data replication between DB2 subsystems (QRep/SQLRep). Monitor database and SQL performance using Omegamon and Query Monitor, optimizing tablespaces, indexes, and access paths. Review and tune Db2 package access paths, including use of hints and optimization techniques. Perform database capacity planning, data growth analysis, and system maintenance. Design and implement database backup and recovery strategies. Manage IDAA setup, tables, and data synchronization. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for production support. Design, implement, and maintain database security controls and documentation. Prepare and execute disaster recovery plans to meet RPO/RTO targets. Automate recurring operational tasks to improve efficiency. Plan and execute Db2 software upgrade and patching activities. Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
