Job Summary
The Senior Tax Associate leads preparation of complex tax returns and supports tax planning and advisory engagements while supervising and mentoring junior team members. This role serves as a key technical resource, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of tax services in accordance with firm standards.
Essential Functions
Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and business entities
Supervise, review, and provide guidance to Tax Associates and Interns
Perform advanced tax research and summarize conclusions and recommendations
Assist with tax planning, projections, and client advisory matters
Communicate directly with clients regarding tax information requests and issues
Support training and development initiatives within the tax practice
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure
Strong knowledge of federal income tax and related compliance requirements
Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns
Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
Public accounting experience with multi-entity or complex client structures
Experience with tax planning or specialized tax areas
Physical & Cognitive Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
Ability to analyze complex tax matters, exercise professional judgment, and manage multiple priorities
Work Environment Including Travel
On-Site
Limited travel, if any
Moderate noise level typical of a professional office environment
