Dawson Civil

is looking for a Superintendent of Civil who will be on site to lead projects, ensuring smooth operations and successful completion.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Civil, working in a full-time position of

Superintendent, Civil

reporting to the

Project Manager.

The Superintendent Civil will be responsible for all onsite facets of the civil construction project including safety, quality, existing utility location and management, traffic management, construction of deep and shallow utilities, roadworks, cleanup, and commissioning and handover to the client. Your base location will be

Princeton, B.C.

and will require some travel throughout our great province depending on where the projects are.

What Success Looks Like

Prioritize safety of self and others in every aspect of the job

Provide management and direction to pipe foremen and crews

A strong knowledge of the Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD)

Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure schedules and budgets are being met

Knowledge of all types of heavy equipment

Attend and participate in all safety meetings and ensure team abides by safety policies on the work site

Assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions

Review and adhere to project schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met

Work with and oversee the performance of all sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed accurately

Read and interpret project plans and specifications, and ensure all employees have the information required

Recommend ways to improve production, quality, and crew performance

Ensure construction meets approved design specifications, drawings, and applicable codes

Provide expertise on all pipelaying methods and processes

What You Bring

Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the civil construction, engineering, or related discipline

Clean Drivers Abstract is required

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently

Experience with Heavy Job an asset
