Cybersecurity Specialist-Advanced/IAT III
This is a full-time temporary position with employment expected to last approximately through September 2026.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Applies knowledge of Cyber policy, procedures, and workforce structure to develop, implement, and maintain a cyber-secure environment
Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software IA problems pertaining to the enclave environment
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish enclave security related goals
May lead and direct the work of others and / or supervise IAT personnel
Works independently to solve problems quickly and completely; Reports to government managers for enclave operational requirements
Serves as a recognized expert in developing strategies, policies, and programs related to cyberspace operations in the Area of Responsibility (AOR)
Compiles, edits, coordinates, and updates cybersecurity strategies, policies, directives, and guidance to implement cybersecurity operational requirements within the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service
Advises senior leadership of cybersecurity challenges, issues, and opportunities for improvements
Advises supervisory personnel on matters related to analysis, audit, and remediation for the protection of Missile Defense Agency information and resources
Senior level experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) techniques, policies, and procedures
Identifies threats and vulnerabilities of computer system(s) and developing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)
Required Experience
Bachelors Degree (or higher) in STEM/Cyber related field
Minimum of 10 plus years of work-related experience
Must have current IAT III (or better) certification
Must have a technical certification or 5 years experience with McAfee Endpoint Security, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Splunk and/or experience implementing network/enclave/system security toolsets with experience reviewing technical assessment reports and prioritizing technical corrective actions.
Must achieve certification in required tools within 6 months of hire date
Strong knowledge base preferred in the areas of: real-time security situational awareness, operational network systems, and security monitoring
Ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and finding
Active SECRET security clearance. U.S Citizenship required.
