Responsibilities
- Develop the world’s most advanced 3D printers
- Manage, mentor and train the mechanical, electrical and compliance engineering teams
- Help employees deliver high quality results and grow their careers while having fun
- Set engineering standards, manage risk and prioritise team efforts
- Work with other leaders and departments to determine project requirements including schedule, staffing, budget and workspace
- Manage engineering tools such as Solidworks, PDM and Altium
- Serve as engineering stakeholder in configuration and operation of cross‑functional systems such as Arena PLM, Jira and Confluence
- Review and approve designs for performance, quality and consistency
- Work closely with manufacturing to ensure production stability and quality
- Help prioritise and manage sustaining engineering and continuous improvement efforts for existing product lines
- Advocate for the hardware engineering viewpoint in cross‑functional discussions
- Influence product strategy
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience developing complex electro‑mechanical products on aggressive timelines
- 7+ years in engineering leadership roles
- Expert electro‑mechanical engineering skills
- Broad knowledge and experience with the intersection of hardware, software and materials
- Experience applying engineering best practices to systems design, trade‑off analysis, modelling and simulation, CAD, design reviews, FMEA, DFX, configuration management and product lifecycle
- Fluid communication skills that allow you to achieve cross‑functional alignment
- Experience managing teams
- B.S. in mechanical or electrical engineering (M.S. preferred)
Salary Range
The salary range for this role is expected to be between $181,393 – $245,415. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location, certifications, licenses, business needs and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other components may include a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated compensation range listed in this job posting reflects base salary only.
