Outcomes
The Facilities Director will give oversight to the day‑to‑day operations of the physical facilities and property of the RJKCCC, including all building and utility infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead day‑to‑day operations of the facilities and property.

Maintain a consistently high level of efficiency in facility operations.

Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement; proactively address maintenance and safety concerns.

Inspect and monitor key facilities: swimming pools, outdoor athletic facilities, fitness center, gymnasium, performing arts center, education areas, family life center, childcare center, co‑generation plant, parking lots, landscaped areas, electrical, security, communication and ventilation systems, emergency generator system, fuel requirements.

Identify and recommend needed repairs or special projects for plumbing, electrical, windows or structural work.

Develop, supervise and execute a year‑round preventative maintenance plan.

Supervise maintenance shop and janitorial storage areas; oversee upkeep of pool with Aquatics Manager; coordinate HVAC, pool and other equipment repairs with contractors; manage vehicle and motor‑driven equipment maintenance.

Purchase equipment and supplies within budget; maintain warranties, repair logs and expenditure records.

Manage maintenance contracts and vendor relations; coordinate low‑voltage operations with IT Coordinator.

Ensure compliance with The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures for custodial and security aspects.

Provide direct supervision to maintenance staff: assign daily tasks, establish operational routines, conduct quality‑control checks and give instruction on equipment and cleaning supplies.

Provide Safe From Harm training and enforce safety guidelines.

Maintain clear communication with staff, volunteers and program participants; create internal memos, schedules, flyers, newsletters and hold one‑on‑one discussions.

Foster a positive work atmosphere through professional behavior and communication, conflict resolution, courtesy and respect for property.

Meet regularly with Sr. Director of Operations and other on‑site leaders to set priorities, recommend repairs, remodeling and replacements.

Maintain a safe environment for employees, guests and RJKCCC members; report problems and incidents; check daily for graffiti or vandalism; report serious incidents to police.

Develop safeguarding systems for facilities, supplies and equipment.

Set up department schedule; manage payroll entry, hours and budgeting; reconcile hours and payroll per pay period.

Provide leadership for other Kroc Center projects as assigned.

Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in facilities management; integrate innovative approaches.

Reporting Relationships
The position reports to the Sr. Director of Operations and acts as a representative of The Salvation Army.

Performance Measurements
Evaluation includes achievement of outcomes, timeliness and accuracy of goals, service quality and a 30‑, 60‑ and 90‑day performance review.

Education / Experience

BA degree or higher in Facility Management, Business Administration or related field; relevant certifications are a plus.

CPO and/or AFO certification preferred.

Stationary Engineering Certification a plus.

Minimum five years experience operating a 120,000‑sq‑ft facility with an annual budget of at least $3 million.

Experience managing custodial and maintenance for multi‑faceted indoor/outdoor recreation facilities.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; must pass MVR and background check.

Combination of education and experience will be considered.

Position Limitations

Use only Army resources that are allocated or approved.

Keep Sr. Director of Operations and Senior Kroc Officer informed on all critical issues.

Adhere to all policies and procedures.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Require heavy physical work; move, lift, repair equipment and supplies regularly.

Participate in community center activities at times.

Work in a medium‑to‑high noise level environment.

May be required to drive on occasion; able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Maintain a positive work atmosphere with professionalism and respect.

Travel
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
